How are cell phones affective?

An addicted texting teenager is driving down White Oak Road constantly keeping her eyes glued onto her phone, she is causing heart attacks to those drivers behind her watching her Black Ford Charger swerve to the left then swerve to the right. As the addicted teenager takes a selfie and sends it to her boyfriend on “Snapchat”, she realizes many other people lives have been affected by cell phones by allowing effective communications, and causing many distractions.

Many people don’t realize but cell phones give the opportunity to have effective communications. For example, the same addicted teenager that was causing heart attacks on White Oak Road, had a car wreck. When the police get to the wreck they will be able to get a hold of the teenagers cell phone to contact her parents and let them know what has happened to their child. Having a cell phone does have many ups and downs depending on how it is used. Say the teenager has a friend that lives in California and she lives in Texas, well being that far apart it isn’t easy to see each other but her having a cell phone gives her the chance to call or text her friend and see how she has been.

Although a cell phone being a distraction is ranked very high in our generation of living today. Students still tend to stay on their phones all day during school and on the roads. When drivers text and drive usually it leads to a big distraction which means they cause a wreck or the start swerving and cop pulls them over and they get a ticket. Not very many people want to be in or cause a wreck, but when they stay on their phones instead of waiting a little bit longer when they are at their destination to check their phones. Students who stay on their phones throughout the day get distracted and it shows when they start failing papers, lower grades, not participating in after school activities, or just not knowing what is going on in school. Staying on their phones is just a mindset thing, students can choose to stay on them and get the punishment or stay off and not cause wrecks or not become smart.

Therefore, knowing what can happen with a teenager or any other human being on their phone all the time, maybe more people will think about the effects cell phone usage can do and what it does do and fix what they do and the choices they choose to do.

Taylor Poem

Taylor was the name I was born with

and it will stay with me the rest of my life

No matter how boring I think it looks

spilling onto blank pieces of paper

I sometimes wish for a more creative name

like Jasmine or Nicole

Names with more loops and curves

I used to dream of seeing myself wearing a

Michael Kors wardrobe

Instead of Miss-Me, or maybe Rocks

only causing me to stretch into tough situations

dealing with popularity and coolness

My life was growing up with three boys

home to playful, physical torture

purple bruises and plenty laughs

Me, a famous model

seven-hundred dollar clothes hanging from me

maids cleaning up after me

Accomplishment, I wanted, did not

lie in my boring-as-sloth life

But then entering my real-world

the hyper like kangaroo boys in my mind

Where I found a little girl

little girl not named Taylor

I didn’t think to love who I was

but day after day

accomplishment by accomplishment

Sometimes took over who I was

from the mirror of disappointment

When I saw my body, hair, and shape

begin to grow out of toddler, simple form

The thing about Taylor

maybe one day I can get to know her

Set up a play date

play her favorite game
Because I might like what I see
